Engineering water‑stop & leak‑repair agent, also known as building leak‑stopping water‑absorbent resin or water‑swellable sealing special‑purpose resin, is a high‑molecular organic polymer. It appears as white granular powder with fast water‑absorbing rate and excellent salt‑resistance and ion‑tolerance. It swells rapidly and forms highly elastic hydrogel upon water contact. It expands quickly to plug gaps when water seeps through building joints and suppresses water penetration and channeling. It features favorable chemical stability under normal conditions and good compatibility with building materials such as cement, asphalt and rubber. Its hydrogel maintains durable stability without disintegration under underground humid and groundwater‑erosion environment. Subject to raw materials and production processes, industrial engineering‑grade water‑stop agent is milky‑white, light yellow or beige granular powder.
1. In construction engineering, it is applied for water‑stopping and leak‑repair of concrete joints, construction joints and deformation joints to block groundwater ingress and reduce water seepage risk. It is a core material for waterproofing and leak‑repair of underground projects, tunnels and utility tunnels. It acts as key water‑absorbing functional filler for manufacturing water‑swellable water‑stop strips and water‑stop sealants. It modifies sealing systems for water‑swellable self‑sealing of gaps. For subway tunnels and utility tunnels, it provides joint anti‑seepage treatment under high‑water‑pressure conditions. It seals splicing gaps of prefabricated components. It serves as raw material for expandable grouting leak‑stopping materials. Besides, it is also used to produce waterproof non‑woven fabrics, swellable sealing fillers and special building water‑absorbing leak‑repair materials.

Proper dosage of engineering water‑stop & leak‑repair agent added into structural gaps of underground garages, tunnels, utility tunnels and civil air‑defense projects can rapidly form dense elastic gel sealing layer. It inhibits the formation of water‑seepage channels and mitigates groundwater‑caused erosion damage to building structures.
3. It can also be used for water‑stop sealing of building gaps. It absorbs water and expands rapidly into highly elastic hydrogel to block water penetration paths when gaps leak, protect building substrate structures and extend the service life of building waterproof systems.
