Building‑material additive agent, also known as special water‑retention resin for building materials or SAP additive for construction mortar, is a high‑molecular organic polymer. It appears as white granular powder with strong water‑absorbing and water‑retention capacity. It swells rapidly to form elastic hydrogel upon water contact and releases water slowly inside building‑material systems to improve water‑retention curing effect of mortar and concrete. It has good compatibility with cement, gypsum, putty and other building materials and will not damage the curing strength of building materials. It has stable chemical properties under normal working conditions, and its gel structure keeps stable in cement‑alkaline environment. Subject to raw materials and production processes, industrial‑grade SAP for building‑material additives is milky‑white, light yellow or pale beige granular powder.

Main Applications:

1. In building‑material industry, it is used for internal water retention of mortar, gypsum products and concrete to reduce early‑stage water evaporation loss and optimize hydration curing conditions. It is a functional additive for dry‑mixed mortar, gypsum building materials and self‑leveling materials. For dry‑mixed mortar, it works as water‑retention modifying component for masonry mortar and plastering mortar. For gypsum building materials, it modifies water‑retention performance of gypsum putty, gypsum‑based self‑leveling and gypsum blocks. For concrete industry, it serves as internal curing agent for pervious concrete and precast components to reduce early‑cracking risks. For tile adhesives and grouts, it improves water‑retention performance and extends open time. For thermal‑insulation mortar, it retains moisture for thermal‑insulation plastering substrate and reduces hollowing and cracking. Besides, it is also used to produce water‑retention modifying auxiliary materials for building materials, gypsum additives and internal‑curing auxiliaries for concrete.

2. Proper dosage of building‑material additive agent added into dry‑mixed mortar, gypsum products and precast concrete can lock internal moisture to sustain continuous hydration curing. It reduces cracking, sanding and hollowing caused by early‑stage water loss, and improves strength and durability of finished building‑material products.

3. It can also be applied for internal water‑retention curing of building‑material products. It absorbs water and forms hydrogel to release water gradually, so as to supply water for material hydration, mitigate shrinkage cracking and improve construction performance.

4. It acts as water‑retention modifying functional additive for building materials. It is also raw material for dry‑mixed mortar additives, gypsum modifiers, concrete internal‑curing materials, tile‑adhesive auxiliaries and other products.

5. It is applied for dry‑mixed plastering & masonry mortar, gypsum products, internal curing of precast components, tile adhesives & grouts, thermal‑insulation mortar, pervious concrete, etc.
